Because all to often government feels it doesn't have to share information with it's citizens and because we recognize the fact that it is virtually impossible for any one person to keep informed about our town government's activities, the idea for this website was born. The meetings are numerous and because we all lead busy lives, it's near impossible to participate in person or even to get to town hall during business hours, to ask for copies of meeting minutes to stay informed and most of us don't even know how to go about this.
We started a Blog earlier this year and attempted to keep people updated about the goings on of the town Planning Board and received numerous requests to expand that idea to include more information. So we decided to set up another web site, a central location where interested people like yourself can find out what you want to know, in the privacy of your own home and at your own convenience. The decisions made, while we're busy with other things, will have a lasting impact on your life (what the town says you are and are not allowed to do) and on how your tax dollars are being spent.
We also hope to include other important town documents in the future as web space allows and are open to suggestions from you on what you would like to see on this site. Like the Winchester Informed Citizen before us, we will do our best to keep you informed on important town issues and everyday business at town hall.
This is a purely volunteer effort and we can use everyone's help. If you'd like to volunteer your services or have town news which you feel is relevant and would like us to publish here, please contact us.
